The tradition of prayer for the dead goes back to Judas Maccabeus the first century BC. IN 998, St Odilo, while Abbott of the Benedictine Monastery at Cluny set aside November 2 as a day of prayer of intercession for the dead. The practice became universal with the Roman Catholic in the fourteenth century. You are invited to join our pastorage community in celebrating this ancient tradition with MASS AT 7:00 p.m., MONDAY, NOVEMBER 2, at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.
